My Story

Knoxville, Tennessee, United States
Who am I? A question that I've been asking myself for 47 years. There are some things that I do know for sure. I am woman who loves deeply, cares like crazy, feels everything in my core. I am wildly creative, love to laugh, smile and I take great joy in knowing that I have worked hard at being the best wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend and teacher that I can be. I am open to possibilities, passionate about causes and people. I have trouble with transitions and hate to disappoint anyone....EVER! I know that I need to get stronger on the inside so that I can more gracefully and flow with the changes and opportunities that come my way. I invite you to join me on my journey to my core and beyond. Let's grow together!

Banana Bread Tuesday

By 11am this morning I had biked 23 miles, I admit it was on my stationary bike, done the laundry, to the best of my limited abilities, emptied and reloaded the dishwasher, saved $20 on our cable bill, marinated chicken for dinner tonight, etc. etc. all in my pj's of course. Almost forgot, made my almost famous banana bread. I love the winter, I love how it makes you feel like it's ok to stay inside and keep your nest warm and cozy. I spoke with BethAnn this morning and she reminded me about the rhythm the season's give to our lives. Living in Florida, it was hard for me to establish a rhythm....Tennessee and it's changing seasons brings me a sense of peace and reminds me that the seasons come and the seasons go ...just like some of the challenges we face in our lifetimes.
Every winter I used to buy a new kitchen gadget, the first was the bread maker. That cost me 20lbs. Then it was the electric griddle, still one of my favorites for pancake mornings. Next it was the electric griddle, the ultimate latka maker, the crock pot for the quick, warm meals that say love and the rice steamer, love that too. Bonnie is getting a crepe maker, she says blintze making is in her future. Yum, just like Nana used to make!
My mom had a colonoscopy done this morning. She said she is fine just full of air, I too know the feeling! Robyn got a speeding ticket on the way to take the kids to school. She said she was not looking her best, imagine that, and not only did she get a ticket but they video taped your for the news. Her logo is all over her van so at least she got some free publicity for hellobabywear.com. Publicity is publicity, or is it?
My gland is swollen, had the night sweats all night. I sense I am fighting something, looking forward to winning! Feeling mellow and quiet, maybe it's a fever. Signing off, just tasted the banana bread...yummy. Last time instead of a pinch of a salt I put in a tablespoon. That's what multi-tasking will do for you. Salt does effect the taste, yes it does. Boring myself......hope to find my Cheri-ness soon. One thing I am grateful for is that I passed on Rob's epic bike ride with dogs and 20mph winds in his face. The swollen gland saved me from being attacked by the wild dogs of Tennessee.
